The Hewitt School, a k-12 all-girls independent school, seeks a full-?time Middle/Upper School History and Social Sciences Teacher for the 2013-2014 school year. The position includes teaching history in grades 6 -?12 with the knowledge and experience to teach junior/senior electives.? The successful candidate must have strong content knowledge, broad technology skills, and a proven track record of innovation in both designing curriculum and developing pedagogy.? Candidates must be eager to work as a member of a department that fosters critical thinking, analytic writing, nuanced research projects, and collaboration among students. ?The successful candidate will develop and implement lessons that incorporate a range of learning styles to both develop and challenge each learner to her fullest potential.? Candidates will have a deep appreciation for student-?centered, engaging and innovative teaching practices, and will welcome the opportunity to collaborate with other educators in developing integrated, project-?based curricula. ? All candidates should have a keen interest and experience in working with students beyond the traditional borders of the classroom and through extracurricular programs. ?
