Maybe he meant to do that? James Taylor flubbed the National Anthem at Game 2 of the 2013 Major League Baseball World Series, but his recovery was so smooth that it made it look like he did it on purpose.

Wearing a black turtleneck, blue fleece vest jeans and carrying his guitar, the 65-year-old legendary singer took the mic on the field at Fenway Park to open the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox game on Thursday, Oct. 24. After his warm welcome from fans, however, Taylor began singing "America the Beautiful" instead of the the National Anthem.
"Oh beautiful," he sang, before immediately transitioning into the "Star-Spangled Banner." "Oh say can you see by the . . . " he continued while changing chords on his guitar.

But perhaps Taylor was just giving his fans a preview of what was to come later in the game. The New York Daily News reports that the "You've Got a Friend" crooner was scheduled to sing "America the Beautiful" during the seventh inning.
